Must Taste: Blacktap Milkshakes

Crazy, over-the-top milkshakes have hit the United States and one restaurant is leading the way. An obsession that started in Australia was picked up in the U.S. and has lead to viral pictures on Instagram of insane milkshake creations. Blacktop, a New York City restaurant has become the U.S. face of these insane shakes.

A regular shake at Blacktap costs $7 but the outrageous milkshakes seen below can cost up to $15. Don’t think getting one of these shakes is easy either. Blacktap has two locations but they only offer milkshakes at their restaurant in SoHo. That don’t accept reservations and the wait to get in has been known to be over an hour long when they’re busy.

The nice thing about this restaurant is they don’t just offer milkshakes. Those without a craving for sweets can order a craft burger, craft burger salad (never heard of this before to be honest) or a beer from their menu.

The SoHo location is located at 529 Broome Street New York, NY 10013. It’s open noon to 11:30pm Sunday through Wednesday and noon to 12am Thursday through Saturday. Check their website if you plan on eating there during a holiday because their hours may vary.

I’m hoping to get to try one of these milkshakes this summer (I’ve been eyeing up the cookie dough shake). Would you be willing to wait for one of these excessive shakes? Which one would you order?
